“ It's not about mastering
other people, it's about
mastering yourself. ”
- Sifu Nathan
Nathan has studied Martial Arts since childhood reaching master levels in Boxing, Shotokan Karate, Taekwondo, Chinese Kickboxing, and Ninjukai Taijutsu. After discovering Wing Chun, Nathan devoted his time to mastering the style after quickly seeing its ‘real life’ practicality for the modern world, scientific nature, and focus on tactical strategy over the use of brute force especially important as one gets older.
Nathan's professional skillset also includes being a Licensed Bodyguard, Personal Trainer and EMS coach and he offers these services via appointment.
Never one to stop learning or developing his skills, he is highly respected amongst the Martial Arts community and is widely noted for his wealth of knowledge, creativity and progressive attitude when applying Wing Chun techniques and training it to others. He is also known as one of the best double arm Chi Sao practitioners in the world and is one of the most experienced practioners in Australia.
Founder & Head Instructor
“ Wing Chun teaches us not to fight force with force. It’s how a smaller person can overcome a larger person using strategy and flow. This principle is also true in life. Always let go of the force and move around your obstacles. ”
- Sifu Peter
Sifu Peter is an entrepreneur whom first created Perth Wing Chun. He is the first official Sifu under Grandmaster Cheung in Western Australia, and has achieved the Level 6 Provisional Master Level.
He cites Wing Chun as a huge inspiration in overcoming head injuries which he sustained in a serious car crash that nearly ended his life.
Sifu Peter has won numerous awards (Best Non-retail Business Award and the Customer Service Award,) has inspired over 7 individuals to grade up to the Sifu level and is single-handed responsible for creating the dynasty that is Perth Wing Chun.
“ The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see. ”
- Alexandra K.Trenfor
With over 10 years experience in practising Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu, Sifu Dan is keen to always learn and help others.
Alongside teaching at Perth Wing Chun, he regularly goes into Primary Schools to teach Kids about Kung Fu and why balance is so important in their lives. One of his favourite experiences was working with the “Steps Youth Dance Company” to create a full dance production incorporating Wing Chun at the Heath Ledger Theatre.
Sifu Dan's passion for learning Wing Chun has seen him win Martial Arts Tournaments, travelled to Shaolin Temple to meet Masters from all over the world, and continue to be a huge proponent in creating awareness of Wing Chun in the wider community.
“It's not the destination that's important, it's the journey you take along the way”
- Senior Instructor Karl.
My interest in Martial Arts came from watching Martial Arts movies as a kid which then led to me study Shotokan style Karate at the age of 8 yrs old. In the year of 2000, while still training in Karate, I went and tried Wing Chun as I was curious about it.
In the beginning I found Wing Chun a bit difficult to pick up as it was different to my Karate techniques however I persisted and ended up moving over to Wing Chun when my Karate Sensei stopped teaching due to illness.
At the age of 14 I was diagnosed as being legally blind due having optical nerve damage however through training Wing Chun, I have been able to train my other senses and strength to the point that this is not a great of a disability as it once was.
I am truly proud to be associated with Perth Wing Chun and look forward to being part of the PWC community for years to come!
Jeremy has been a student of PWC for over 10 advancing from Strength to strength in skills and thus PWC is proud to have him teach other students in the Wing Chun System. Jeremy is a competent practitioner and loves helping others achieve their Wing Chun goals

“ The more skill you achieve in martial arts, the twice as humble and virtuous you must be. ”
- Sifu Opat
Sifu Opat began his journey at Perth Wing Chun in 2008 under Sifu Graham, in Dianella. Unsure of whether Wing Chun was right for him, he briefly went off to experiment with a number of other Martial Arts. After a few months, he returned and declared that Wing Chun was the most effective system for fighting, and he would dedicate himself to practice it for life.
In 2011 Sifu Opat married his wife and moved over to Alice Springs to be with her. It was then he decided that he would start his own Wing Chun School; the Alice Springs Wing Chun Academy . Since that time his school has gone from strength to strength. Sifu Opat regularly visits Perth to hone his Wing Chun Skills.
